On October 31, 2024, teachers of the cyclical commission of humanitarian disciplines: Talimonchuk O.G., Konyakhin Yu.O., Krotyuk V.S. and Myshkov V.Ya. organized a video tour of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide in the city of Kyiv. The participants of the tour - first-year students of the general education department, group YIT-13, had the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the exhibits and history of the museum, but also to learn about the origin and meaning of the term "genocide", to get acquainted with documents analyzing the events in Ukraine in 1932-1933.
During the video excursion, students worked with sources of personal origin (diaries), visual sources (photographs), learned about the main aspects of the policy of the communist totalitarian regime: the processes of dispossession and collectivization, as well as the situation of Ukrainians during the Holodomor-genocide. Participants learned to analyze primary historical documents, critically perceive them, and form a personal attitude to history. The main attention was focused on the story of humanity, which helped Ukrainians survive in those cruel times.
In the second part of the tour, there was an opportunity to talk with a museum employee, who answered questions from students and teachers and helped to better understand the events of the Holodomor in Ukraine.
