The war claimed tens of thousands of lives, forced millions to flee their homes, and divided the lives of Ukrainians into \u201cbefore\u201d and \u201cafter.\u201d At around four in the morning, Russian dictator Putin announced a \u201cspecial military operation\u201d with the aim of supposedly \u201cdemilitarizing and denazifying Ukraine,\u201d starting the bloodiest war in Europe since 1945\u2026<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-c1eca1c p-indent\" data-block-id=\"c1eca1c\"><style>.stk-c1eca1c {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-c1eca1c .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The Russians attacked from five directions, advancing most in the south. In the first days, they occupied Melitopol and Berdyansk, and approached Mariupol. At the same time, the plan to quickly capture Kyiv failed: the Ukrainian military stopped the enemy on the outskirts, slowed down the offensive, and switched to positional battles.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-ea39520 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"ea39520\"><style>.stk-ea39520 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-ea39520 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\"><strong>MARCH 2022<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-abd330f p-indent\" data-block-id=\"abd330f\"><style>.stk-abd330f {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-abd330f .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">In March, Russian troops actively advanced in the north and south of Ukraine, as well as in the east of the Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-b077282 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"b077282\"><style>.stk-b077282 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-b077282 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">On March 2, Kherson was occupied, fierce fighting took place near Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv. Russian troops shelled Mykolaiv and Mariupol without stopping.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-ce72941 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"ce72941\"><style>.stk-ce72941 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-ce72941 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">On March 4, during the Battle of Energodar, Russian troops committed an act of nuclear terrorism - they captured the Zaporizhia NPP.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-d1d7928 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"d1d7928\"><style>.stk-d1d7928 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-d1d7928 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">On March 16, a powerful aerial bomb was dropped on a drama theater in Mariupol, where hundreds of civilians were hiding, a significant number of whom died.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-539f6d4 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"539f6d4\"><style>.stk-539f6d4 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-539f6d4 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\"><strong><strong>APRIL 2022<\/strong><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-0812752 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"0812752\"><style>.stk-0812752 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-0812752 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">If the end of February was a time of rapid offensive by Russian troops, then the beginning of April was a time of rapid retreat by the Russians.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-f570a88 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"f570a88\"><style>.stk-f570a88 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-f570a88 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">On April 3, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired two Neptune missiles near Zmiiniy Island at the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva, which sank the next day while being towed.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-238a488 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"238a488\"><style>.stk-238a488 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-238a488 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The Armed Forces of Ukraine expelled the enemy from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. At the same time, the world learned about the mass war crimes committed by the Russian army in the temporarily occupied territories. The Bucha massacre became a symbol of Russian atrocities.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-cc588b5 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"cc588b5\"><style>.stk-cc588b5 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-cc588b5 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The Russian army also regularly shelled Ukrainian cities \u2013 on April 8, the Russians launched a missile strike on the train station in Kramatorsk, where mostly women and children were staying. 61 people were killed.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-8ac0f0b p-indent\" data-block-id=\"8ac0f0b\"><style>.stk-8ac0f0b {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-8ac0f0b .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, while the Russians shifted their main efforts to the Luhansk direction, where they pushed out our troops in the areas of Popasna, Kreminna, Lyman, Severodonetsk, and Torske.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-6358b92 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"6358b92\"><style>.stk-6358b92 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-6358b92 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Russian troops continuously shelled Mariupol for many months, turning the city into complete ruins.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-28d68c8 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"28d68c8\"><style>.stk-28d68c8 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-28d68c8 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The last center of resistance to the Russians was the Azovstal plant, which was heroically defended by several thousand Ukrainian soldiers, police officers, and border guards, including fighters from the Azov battalion...<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-2224e72 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"2224e72\"><style>.stk-2224e72 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-2224e72 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\"><strong><strong><strong>\u2026FEBRUARY 2025<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-ad6853a p-indent\" data-block-id=\"ad6853a\"><style>.stk-ad6853a {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-ad6853a .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">In February, Russia launched dozens and hundreds of drones over Ukraine almost every night, and on February 12, Ukrainian air defense shot down six ballistic missiles over Kyiv.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-abf0aa0 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"abf0aa0\"><style>.stk-abf0aa0 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-abf0aa0 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\"><strong>Ukraine continues to struggle<\/strong>, demonstrating an unyielding will to win: the third year of the full-scale Russian invasion and the eleventh year of the war unleashed by the Kremlin continues. Despite massive attacks, destruction and human losses, Ukrainians prove their resilience every day, strengthening the army, supporting the economy and rallying in the fight for freedom.
