On this day, we remember the tragic events of January-February 2014, when mass shootings of protesters took place during the Revolution of Dignity. <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-bce833e p-indent\" data-block-id=\"bce833e\"><style>.stk-bce833e {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-bce833e .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">In late 2013 and early 2014, mass protests began in Ukraine, as Ukrainians opposed the policies of the then government and its rejection of European integration. As a result, the country saw a change of power, with then-President Viktor Yanukovych and his associates fleeing abroad, and the culmination of the events known as the Revolution of Dignity was a massive confrontation between protesters and security forces on Independence Square in Kyiv. As a result, the largest number of people died between February 18 and 20, 2014\u2026 <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-4133667 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"4133667\"><style>.stk-4133667 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-4133667 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The list of the Heavenly Hundred was opened on January 22, 2014. First, Maidan activists Serhiy Nihoyan and Mykhailo Zhyznevskyi died from gunshot wounds in the center of the capital. On the same day, the body of activist Yuriy Verbytskyi with traces of torture was found in a forest near Kyiv. By February 18, 2014, there were already 9 dead, and from that day on, mass shootings began on the Maidan. From February 18 to 20, the most people died \u2013 78 people, after February 20 \u2013 another 20. Almost immediately, all the dead were called the \u201cHeavenly Hundred\u201d, although in reality there were more than a hundred of them.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-43aec87 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"43aec87\"><style>.stk-43aec87 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-43aec87 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The date of February 20 - the Day of Remembrance of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred - was established by decree of the President of Ukraine on February 11, 2015, with the aim of perpetuating the great human, civic and national courage and selflessness, strength of spirit and resilience of citizens who changed the course of the history of our state.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-ff70d67 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"ff70d67\"><style>.stk-ff70d67 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-ff70d67 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The official number of the Heavenly Hundred is 107 people. These were people of different ages, different nationalities, different professions and social status. The youngest of them was Nazariy Voytovych - he was only 17 years old. The oldest - Ivan Nakonechny - was 82. They died so that Ukraine would be and would be Ukrainian. <strong>Let us honor the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred! May heaven be peaceful for us!
