Despite significant challenges, the Ukrainian government and international partners are taking steps to stabilize macroeconomic indicators and ensure the basic needs of the population.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-e40b497 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"e40b497\"><style>.stk-e40b497 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-e40b497 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-left\"><strong>Macroeconomic indicators<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-e7be900 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"e7be900\"><style>.stk-e7be900 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-e7be900 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">According to estimates by the Ministry of Economy, the GDP decline in 2024 is about 5.6%. The main reasons are the destruction of infrastructure, reduced investment activity, and reduced production capacity in war zones.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-24e9b09 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"24e9b09\"><style>.stk-24e9b09 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-24e9b09 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Inflation in December reached 12.4% on an annual basis. The main drivers of price increases remain energy, fuel and food products. Electricity prices increased by 18% due to damage to energy infrastructure.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-bbf53b6 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"bbf53b6\"><style>.stk-bbf53b6 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-bbf53b6 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Ukraine&#039;s total public debt is $125 billion, of which 45% is external liabilities. Loans from the IMF and the EU cover the budget deficit, but at the same time increase the debt burden.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-85a6bab p-indent\" data-block-id=\"85a6bab\"><style>.stk-85a6bab {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-85a6bab .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">The Ukrainian labor market in 2024 faces a paradoxical situation: high unemployment (about 171% of the total) is combined with a shortage of labor in certain sectors and regions. The reasons for this situation are the significant migration of the working-age population abroad, the destruction of infrastructure and enterprises in war-torn regions, as well as the mismatch of workers&#039; qualifications with the needs of the modern market. The problem is especially acute in the renewable energy, logistics, and construction sectors, where economic activity is slowing down due to a shortage of personnel.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-5b0e4e2 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"5b0e4e2\"><style>.stk-5b0e4e2 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-5b0e4e2 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\"><strong>International aid<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-09129e0 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"09129e0\"><style>.stk-09129e0 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-09129e0 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Ukraine received significant financial support from Western partners in December:<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-d26e10d p-indent\" data-block-id=\"d26e10d\"><style>.stk-d26e10d {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-d26e10d .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">\u2013 The IMF provided another tranche of $1.5 billion to support the budget and finance social programs;<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-5631e69 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"5631e69\"><style>.stk-5631e69 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-5631e69 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">\u2013 The EU has allocated \u20ac500 million for the modernization of energy infrastructure, as well as financing the renovation of residential facilities;<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-bf41f96 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"bf41f96\"><style>.stk-bf41f96 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-bf41f96 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">\u2013 The United States continues to provide military and humanitarian assistance. Prolonged shelling led to temporary power outages in many regions. Despite this, the government was able to provide critical facilities with power supply. Measures are planned to reduce dependence on traditional energy sources, including the launch of new projects in the field of renewable energy. In August 2024, the government approved an investment plan worth 20 billion US dollars, aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the country&#039;s energy balance to 27% by 2030.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-da748d2 p-indent\" data-block-id=\"da748d2\"><style>.stk-da748d2 {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-da748d2 .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\"><strong>Prospects for 2025<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-fa707ba p-indent\" data-block-id=\"fa707ba\"><style>.stk-fa707ba {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-fa707ba .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">Economic analysts predict a moderate recovery in 2025, provided the intensity of hostilities decreases and international support continues. The priorities remain:<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-085e79e p-indent\" data-block-id=\"085e79e\"><style>.stk-085e79e {margin-bottom:0px !important;}.stk-085e79e .stk-block-text__text{letter-spacing:-0.1px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-justify\">\u2013 Reforming the tax system to stimulate small and medium-sized businesses. The Government of Ukraine continues to implement large-scale plans to restore transport and energy infrastructure in 2025.
